Hello again everyone.  Very sorry for taking so long to post a new blog.  Life has been crazy busy.  Ok enough excuses.  We have been learning more about each others' hearts and continue to grow closer to Christ.  He is so amazing and just keeps blessing us in more ways than we could ever know.  We had a cake tasting tonight and it was wonderful.  Grandma came along with us and helped us in our discussion.  We have decided where we are going to get the cake from and what kinds... yes there will be more than one kind.  We are very excited about it.  No I will not tell you what kind it is because were is the fun in that? Ha ha.  Yes though it may be cruel, I just cannot ruin the surprise.  We continue to get closer and closer to the day God has for us to become one and to be honest... I cannot wait!!!!  We had Thanksgiving in Kentucky with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins, Grandma and Grandpa, and the next door neighbors whom I have known for several years now.  It was a wonderful time and Uncle is helping me out with my project.  Speaking of... ok well I enjoy talking about it so I will... I am now almost 73% complete.  I have found a new element for the project that, I think, is making them turn out even better.  I am very excited to see where God takes me in this project next.
On a side note I would like to thank everyone for your prayers for Roxie and our friend.  Roxie had her surgery and is making a great recovery.  She is a determined person and stays bubbly with her perspective and outlook.
After making the trip home from Kentucky I went to battle the crowds on Black Friday as it is something I enjoy.  The fighting of the crowds the finding of deals and the accidentally telling of my fiance what I got her... Yes I pulled a Blue Jacket* on the issue.  Well, all is well.  Just a reminder to everyone.  Tanya will have a birthday on Saturday.  If you see her please be sure to say hello.  Thank you in advance.  The are some big plans for Saturday but I can't just tell you guys because.... well, it is a surprise for Tanya and well, I think she reads this blog.  Sorry guys but feel free to ask later... like say Sunday.
Grandma flew in from Michigan and spent the week with us.  It was so nice to see her.  We got to spend a little time together which was AMAZING.  We had our company Christmas party at Sycamore Creek Country Club and it was great to see everyone just enjoying everyone and there was singing of carols and drinking of coffee.  If anyone would like to know they have a pretty good black coffee.  Not sure if you would go there just for the coffee but I felt like it deserves mentioning.  On Saturday there was a small Tea at my parents house for Tanya.  She got to meet my mother's circle of friends minus Cindy who deciding to be out of the state at the particular time.  Ha ha.  Yes for some reason Florida sounds pretty good this time of the year.  They will have to catch up later.  All I really know about the Tea was that there was a lot of story telling... I think they said about me... not sure how I feel about that but she is marrying into our family so I am glad everyone got to know each other better.  While the Tea was going on, Grandpa and I were golfing up in Xenia.  Yes it was a great day to play and I shot my par... I enjoy the game a little more than most and therefor like to shoot a little more.  So basically, my par is a little higher than most.  If I could work on my short game and tweak my drives I think I could get a little closer to everyone's par.
Well great news, one of my best friends that was married back in June is now pregnant.  So happy for them both.  He said they heard the heart beat for the first time.  It is so amazing how God constructs His creatures and how He molds us into the people we are today.  He truly is and amazing God.
We went to Bed Bath and Beyond for our gift registry.  I will try to upload today or tomorrow.  That puts us at 3 places: Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, and Kohl's.  Home Depot you have to actually go in and ask them to print off the items which is kinda funny to me but if anyone knows how I can link it to the website I would be more than happy to.  All the registries will be on the registry page, minus Home Depot unless someone can assist me with that.
Thank you all for your prayers and your patience with me and my heavy delays in blogging.  Please continue to pray for our friend battling cancer.  May God bless your days and show you Him every day.  Thank you all who have been helping us.  We love you all

Day 52-60
Well hello everyone out there.  Sorry I am a little late tonight getting the blog up... I was working on my special project for the wedding.  Only 14% complete now.  God has just been doing wonderful things in our lives.  Personally I have asked someone to become my accountability partner, someone who will ask me the questions I do not want asked and to help me stay on the path that God has for me.  He is helping me to become the man He has designed me to be.  This week He is working on my heart and some things that I have been holding on to as trying to take care of said things myself.  He has complete control and I need to continue to give things up to Him so that I can become more like Him.
Well I think we found the cake the we are going to have at the wedding. We went to Eber and Rebekah's wedding this last weekend and it was wonderful. Totally God honoring. At the wedding we saw people we have not seen in forever which was great. We also found the cake there. It is going to be great. We are also putting together the save the dates which we hope to have out by the first week of December. The wedding dress still has not arrived and we are getting a little worried but all in good time. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and seeing where God has us to be as there are several options out there for us. We have completed 2 gift registries and I get a little excited because I love planning what our future is going to be and look like. We talked about our next house a little bit and now I just need to get on the computer and design some possible floor plans that we would be interested in. Yes I shall do this in my spare time between working full time, going to school, working on the special project, being engaged, and all the other planning having to do with the wedding.... oh and the holidays of course. We have selected a DJ for the wedding and God put him right in our laps thanks to Pricey.
God continues to show His hand in our lives as He bring people into our lives and how He takes care of us. We are so grateful for all those people who are helping us with the wedding and to become the people we need to be for each other and for others. Tanya had a record breaking day as she saw 30 patients in one day this last week. I cannot imagine what that must be like.
Please keep Roxie and our friend in your prayers as they continue to battle the recovery from surgery and cancer. Please continue to be in prayer that we can show Christ to those around us and let Christ mold us into the people that He has designed us to be. Please also pray that we can get some time to just hang out. I feel that it has been a while as we are constantly planning for our future, the wedding, and just trying to get everything done. We want this wedding to shine Christ in every way and also to be enjoyable for everyone. We thank everyone again for your thoughts and prayers and help.

Day 38-51
Hey everyone.  Once again I am sorry for taking so long to get the update up.  Wow it has been just crazy busy and crazy blessings all over the place.  God is so good and takes care of His children so well.  We have been busy just getting to know each other and becoming the people God has us to be for each other.  We are getting the save the dates together and they should be out before next Friday.  If anyone receives a call asking for your address then that is what it is probably for unless we already have it.  I know I need to get on that a little so I will probably be calling a few of you this week.  I don’t know if I mentioned yet but the dress has been bought!!!   We are running a 5k pre-turkey trot in a couple weeks, “we” are very excited about.  (the “we” meaning she is and I am just looking forward to spending time with her even though I will not be able to breath the entire time and probably have to have the EMS come pick me up)  We are getting ready to spend some holiday with my family and then rush back for Black Friday.  Well some of us will be working or sleeping before work and some of us will be battling for a couple items for the workshop and house and just enjoy the company of a few hundred thousand people crammed into small areas of business.
We are very blessed as we had a scare this past week.  Newdell seemed to be very sick and we both were worried she might go on to be with Jesus but thankfully God wanted Newdell to grace us with her presence for a little while longer.  It looks as if she just had a virus of some sort and with the proper medication, she is back to her loving self.
I am still working on my secret project.  It is moving along and I have gotten some additional assistance to help complete the job.  I am still excited about the project and only had a small set back but ready to take it on in the next couple days.  I am a little nervous as this project is time consuming and I know it will probably take up until the wedding to complete.  I know God has everything under control, still just want to make sure I am using the time He is giving me wisely.
We are just about ready to jump into the wonderful world of gift registry stuff.  I say stuff because I am not really sure what all it entails.  We are looking forward to it to get to know each other better and to be able to see what the whole process is about.
We are still working on the transportation, meaning limo and looking at different possibilities there.  If anyone has any advice on said subject please feel free to email me at david.ghysels@gmail.com.
We are meeting with Mike, the DJ, someone who we believe God has laid in our path to fill this position tonight.  We will go over songs, length, and general information.  We WILL be having people dance so please start working on your moves for the dance and if anyone claims they cannot dance, just watch me and know that it is impossible to do worse than me, all that to say please enjoy and we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor.  I will tell you that… wait nope, I am not going to ruin any surprises…. Just come ready to have a good time and enjoy what Christ is doing.
**** Special note: Dad aka Boss aka Tim will be making his way out onto the dance floor ****
We will be celebrating at Eber and Rebekah’s wedding this weekend.  What a great story of Christ working in another couple’s lives.
Please be in prayer for Roxie as she is having surgery on Tuesday 11-08-11.  She is a dear friend and many of you know her.  Ok well, some of you may know her but the great thing about prayer is that it does not matter if you know the person or not.  God works in wonderful ways through prayer.  Please continue to pray the God ties our hearts together and prepares us to be the people for each other that we need to be.  I don’t know if I am allowed to share whom this person is but please pray for a dear friend of ours who is battling cancer.  They are very strong and we just want to keep them in our prayers.

Day 24-37
Hey everyone, sorry it has been so long we have just been busy.  So to update everyone we did get our engagement photos taken and we are going to be going tomorrow to pick them up in a digital form.  From what I have heard from the people who have seen them, they are pretty cool.  I know Tanya and I are waiting with baited breath to see them and I cannot wait to see her beautiful face and to see what Kort has done with the photographs.  They were at Cox Arboretum if I did not mention it before.  The great thing was that it was supposed to rain all day Saturday but God had different plans and the sun was shinning and it was beautiful.  I should have the pictures uploaded within a couple of days.  As you know I have class on Wednesday and Tuesday is our date night so it might be Thursday before I can upload them.  Life has been going well.  God continues to bless us in so many ways.  We have done some shopping and have gotten a few things for the wedding... I will just have to make yall wait to see what it is.  It is pretty cool.  Tanya is so amazing at what she does it still takes me by surprise.  We have asked someone to do a reading at the wedding and I and very interested in hearing what advise and knowledge this individual is going to share.  This person is a very Godly person and is a wealth of knowledge, humor, and I am proud to know this person... Yes I am not saying he or she because I would like you all to guess or just wait and find out.  We do not know what said person is going to say in the least so it will be more fun this way and more meaningful.
I continue to work on my secret project for the wedding and am making good progress. Nothing to show yet, and even if I did, I would not be able to show anyone as it is a secret... sheesh. Ok I know I am more excited than probably anyone reading this but that is ok. As for wedding plans we have brushed through the budget a little again and have begun getting decorations and working on centerpieces. Debra aka Da Bomb Mom is heading this up assisted by Trish aka my grandma. Lana Knecht will be our wedding day planner to make sure that everything goes smoothly. We debated just doing it ourselves but due to many people saying otherwise including my mother, grandmother, and basically everyone we know we have asked Lana to help us. We are looking into cakes and designs and going to be doing some taste tests here shortly. My grandmother is helping us a lot with that aspect. Eber and Megan are helping us out with the design and printing of our save the dates which should be in the mail here within the next couple weeks.
I know this does not have anything to do with the wedding but I thought I would share with you guys anyway. My grandparents are going to be sending us to Bali Hai, Hawaii for our honeymoon. We are very excited as neither of us have been to Hawaii before.
I am probably missing a few things but my mind is drawing a blank. We would like to ask for everyone to keep us in their prayers. Please continue to pray that we grow closer to the Lord every day and that we seek Him out in an intentional way. He has been so good to us and continues to show His love and mercy to us. Please also be in prayer that we are able to get done what is needed when it needs to be done. Thank you everyone for follow us and keeping us in your prayers.

Day 16-23
Well howdy everyone.  Sorry for those of you who were expecting a blog on Sunday, I was wore out from the awesome day that we had....  so I will blog next week.  Just kidding with y'all.
So the week went well for the most part. I ended up throwing a disc out in my back which pushed a rib out or something along those lines. My loving fiance set up an appointment to get it fixed. Man I love this woman. God is so awesome to create people who care and look out for one another. The week progressed normally other than that. I had another class, Tanya saved more people at work. The norm. Lol. Well, we have our engagement photos this Saturday, which it is supposed to rain, so please pray that God decides there should not be any water falling from the heavens on Saturday or at least until I can get Tanya into some shelter. We are really excited for that. God continues to guide us in our walk with Him and He is teaching both of us some really cool things. We have picked up a couple of books to read. Tanya is reading For Women Only and I am reading For Men Only. We are going through them as they are Christ centered books that look into how men and women differ in their thoughts and actions. This way we can better understand each other and serve each other better. Tanya brought up the idea which I know many of you may be surprised as I am a huge bookworm. I think I have read around 3 books since High School. Really, it is more like 4-5 but she has this awesome heart to seek out my heart and wants to learn everything there is and I LOVE it!!! We are having great conversations about the how and why of who we are and why we think and act certain ways... it is awesome.
We have HUGE wedding news as Tanya has found her wedding dress. It is beautiful and the colors are amazing and set her gorgeous eyes off. The train resembles.... actually I have no clue what I am talking about. Tanya had a girls day and went to look at dresses with some of her close friends that were not working, living 15,032 miles away, or saving the world from attacks and located the perfect dress. Of course, as many of you who know Tanya, would know that the dress is on sale. Sales follow Tanya and create themselves to be around Tanya. It is wonderful. I believe that the bridesmaids dresses have also been located. We are cruising along in our wedding preparations. My grandmother living here in Ohio is researching wedding cakes for both design and cost and all that good stuff. Debra, my mother, is working on the centerpieces and I get to hear new ideas almost every night. We are working on honeymoon plans and are really excited about those. We have our eye on a couple places but have not landed on a decision just yet.
On Sunday we got to hear Pastor Connie preach about parenting and the raising of children. It is like a golden nugget every time we get to hear him preach. We had a great conversation about our expectations and a couple of different things we would do in raising our children. Then we headed to Bob Hartenstein's (sp?) class to hear him talk and it was just like he was talking to us. He covered topics that we have been talking about and where we think that God would like us to be. It was just great to hear everyone in the class. After we went to Max and Erma's for lunch with Mom and Dad and Grandma and Grandpa. The conversation was based around fantasy football and wedding stuff. For anyone who does not know, we as family have a league that is headed by my sister, Flu Flu. It is just a family league with Dad, Grandpa, Megan, Tanya, Bryan (Megan's husband), Kyle (Bryan's brother), Chuck, and myself and none of us are competitive... lol ok maybe we are. After lunch we headed over to Sycamore Creek Country Club to look at their facilities for a rehearsal dinner and ding ding ding we found a winner. It has a large room with a fireplace and is in a setting that will be intimate and cozy. The food I hear is pretty good although I think we might want to make sure for the other guests. From there we left and Tanya raided, (by my asking), my closet and cleaned house. She tossed things that were too small, completely outdated, goofy, and things that I should never wear. This also created a problem... We have engagement photos on Saturday and my closet is now half the size. Tanya took me shopping and she picked out a new outfit for the photos. Man this woman steals my heart and warms it with every breath she takes. She serves to no end. I am so blessed. I will post pictures as soon as I get a digital copy from Kort. We are both very excited and have a couple of pictures that we would like. If anyone has any ideas we would love to hear them. We both kind of just go with the flow and we would love some direction.
In other news Tanya has allowed me to build a room in the garage for my lathe and woodworking. My grandfather is going to help me build it, hopefully this week. I have already order chisels, I have to some wood for a special project that I might need some ideas on, and wouldn't you know it, the company selling the lathe that I was going to wait until Friday to order was selected as the only lathe.... that was on sale for today only. Wow God continues to bless His children. So, it is ordered and I just have to wait until it is delivered, hopefully Friday, until I can set it up and start working on my secret project.
I know I am missing some important stuff to let you all know about but I can not think of it. Sorry, but this will have to do for now. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue this process. Pray for us to continue to grow closer to Christ and that we can represent Him in every aspect of our lives. Pray that He will continue to bind our hearts together. Pray for the many people that are so graciously offering their services to help us Jennifer Hart, Amy Pricey, Grandma, Grandpa, Angie and her husband, my parents, Sherri, Megan and everyone that is continuing to pray for us. I am sorry if I did not mention you by name but know we are very grateful for your help and prayers. Pray most of all that people will be able to see Christ in what we do and that we can point the to the One who created us and extends His hands to each and every person.

Day 12-15
Hello everyone.  Thank you for those of you have given feedback.
First off I forgot to tell everyone that we have decided to have Pastor Connie do the ceremony and to do the premarital counseling. We are excited to get things rolling and become one. God has gifted us in so many ways it is incredible. This weekend we went to go watch the University of Michigan kick Minnesota 58-0 at the Big House. This was Tanya's first big college game and it was great. The weather was a little chilly to start but we had stopped by the M Den (a tradition in our family) and had picked up a Michigan sweatshirt so Tanya could stay warm. Tanya got to meet Dean and Kathy Bergy, long time friends of the family. Dean is Dad's best friend from high school. It was great to have her meet them and to watch the boys in blue. Her response to the game "I could really become a Michigan fan!" Words that just warm my heart. After the game we left went to Colby and Sarah Keefer's home 8 miles away. Colby and Sarah work for AIA (Athletes in Action) at the UofM and had prepared a meal for us so that we could catch up. Colby headed up AIA at the University of Dayton when I attended and Sarah was Tanya's mentor when she went to the University of Dayton. It was great to see what God has been doing in their lives and to be able to wrestle with their kids. Yes I said wrestle and no I did not start it... I just finished it. No it was great though as we got to just sit and chat in between wrestling about life and where God was leading them. From The Keefer's house we left to go see/meet Grandma Ghysels in GR (Grand Rapids). They have Art Prize going on in GR and she was helping to run a venue at The Womens Club off of Fulton.
After meeting with her we dropped Aunt K off and had dinner at Grandma's house. We sat up and talked for a little but I was a little tired and called it a night. At 9:00 am prompt Grandma called down in the basement and woke me up and we got to chat a little. Well Tanya and Grandma chatted about medical stuff while I took a shower and then we headed out to Arnie's. If you have never been there, put it on your bucket list. If you want the address or info please just let me know and I would be happy to give it to you. We had a wonderful meal there and then headed to the Womens Club. Grandma had to work so she showed us the displays at the Club and then we walked around town for a little checking out a few venues before our trip home. Art Prize was wonderful. We began our long journey home and we have been going through a book called "100 questions to ask before you say I do" Great book bringing up a lot of topics that a couple should go through before they walk down the isle. We had wonderful conversation about family, each other, how to better serve each other, and many other topics. We arrived back in Ohio and I have to say that my buckets are overflowing. Tanya you have filled my buckets up so much this weekend I cannot thank you enough. I look forward to serving you and walking with you every day.
Wedding stuff. I know you guys are wondering what plans we have been working on and I am sorry for rambling on but it was just such a great weekend I had to share. We are working on Bridal Showers as there are many people wanting to support us (Tanya especially as she will need lots of support since she will be stuck with me ... :-D) We do not have anything set in stone other than we know we want to meet with everyone before the wedding. Sorry guys. If you have any ideas or would like to have any input please let us know. We want everyone to be apart of this wedding where we have come up with a theme for. The theme is... Well I think I should hold off on telling you that for at least another couple days. We are having engagement photos done on October 15th if I have forgotten to tell you so I should have those uploaded shortly after.
I may have missed something but I am trying not to repeat myself. We would like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers as we continue to follow Christ in His great plan. We welcome any thoughts or ideas.

Day 1-11
First off, I would like to thank everyone for being in our lives and helping us through every step.  We are so grateful that God has put you all in our lives.  I will be keeping a blog for anyone who would like to follow all the steps or just curious what we are doing.  I will do my best to update it twice a week for the remaining 164 days until I take Tanya Lynn to be my bride.... and then y'all are on your own.  I may word vomit at times or forget people or things that happened that day, please forgive me.  This is my first time blogging.
This is our story. I apologize for being so late. God is amazing and He continues to shine all around us. As for how we got started you will have to check out our story on the website. For all that has happened since then I will try to catch you up. I will tell the story of how I asked her in a later blog so please bare with me. From day 1 Christ has been guiding us to which venue to pick to colors to invitations. I will spare all of the long drawn out stories I normally have but we will be married in the Collier Chapel. The Collier Chapel was built in I believe 1850 ish and has beautiful stain glass windows and heating don't worry ladies. Debra aka the bomb mom aka my mommy will be doing all decorations for the wedding both the ceremony and the reception. The color is navy blue. Any decorating questions or comments should be directed to her. If you wish to make comments on here I would be more than happy to relay them to her. From the Collier Chapel we will be heading over to the Schindler Banquet Hall to have to reception. There will be food for all there, although what exactly is just to be determined. We will have music so if you have a song you would like played please request it on the wedding website so we can make sure it makes it into the play list (please remember this is a celebration and that songs must be child appropriate).
I have selected my best man and groomsmen, Chuck will be standing as my best man. The one who has known me since I was a wee one and we got into more trouble together in those days than I care to admit. He will stand and fight for my marriage as a brother but also as a brother who knows that Christ is at the center of the relationship. Bryan will be standing in as one of my groomsmen. Bryan started dating Flu Flu aka Megan and I was forced to meet him as it was my duty to make sure anyone that was around her was to treat her the right way. After the first handshake I would have to call him one of my best friends and can bounce ideas and ideas relating to Christ off of him. Tim will also be standing up for me. I met Tim when we were getting ready for football practice in middle school and he has been by my side ever since. We lived together for a while and have conquered many things including West Virginia's white waters many football teams and friendships. Puddy aka Josh will be standing for me. Josh has been around since the soccer days where I use to call him the kid with red hair and red shoes (I was/am horrible with names) We have hashed out many things about life and Josh always stood by me. He is loyal and would stick up for us any day. I truly am grateful that God has put so many people in my life I can depend on and are amazing friends and brothers.
Tanya has been shopping, and if you don't know deals go out of their way to find her, and has found a great deal on invitations. Yes we know we will not be mailing them for another 62-73 days but when they jump in your basket and want to be taken home for a few cents how can you say no. Kort is going to be photographing Tanya (and me unless I can dodge the camera) for our engagement pictures in two weeks (so keep you eye out on our photo album) and also be doing our wedding pictures. She is very skilled with the camera and we look forward to working with her. We are currently working on guests lists, the budget, and odds and ends things right now. Megan Kamp will be designing our save the dates and as we already have a couple of sample, we grow more and more excited to see where Christ will lead us next in this process. We have decided to have a wedding planner (or gopher/coordinator/wedding day fixer for all you guys).
I think that is all I am going to have time for tonight. We appreciate your prayers, comments, and thoughts as we continue on this journey. Please pray the Christ can use us as He has planned. Thank you again for reading and if I do forget anything feel free to, kindly, remind me and I will make sure I give that update on the next post.
